Show Notes

A body-swap romance, a homeless boy meeting a weather maiden, and a girl’s unexpected adventure with a sentient chair. All of that in less than a decade! The boys discuss THE RISE OF SHINKAI. In honor of Your Name.‘s 10th anniversary, Logan & Andy cover the three films that have propelled writer-director Makoto Shinkai into one of the most popular names in Japanese animation: Your Name., Weathering with You (2019), and Suzume (2022). How does Shinkai’s biggest hit fare a decade later? How does he follow it up? Why can’t real-life food look as gorgeous as food in a Shinkai film? Find out on this magical new episode of ODD TRILOGIES!
