“Komorebi” is a Japanese word for which English has no equivalent. Literally meaning, “sunlight filtering through trees,” it is a symbol of the Japanese people’s appreciation for nature’s delicate beauty; a meditation on the balance and interplay between light and darkness which create fleeting, beautiful moments all around us.
With each entry in this monthly series, we aim to shed dappled light on a fleeting, beautiful moment in film—a moment that exemplifies the essence of komorebi.
A podcast dedicated to the strange interconnectedness of film! Every episode, we discuss films in sets of three—whether connected by story, themes, history, or cast & crew! We also publish new-release movie reviews and commentary.
